Working Hard Or Hardly Working

After work one night I had to stop at Walmart to pick up a few things. I was wearing khaki pants, but was also wearing a hot pink, leopard print hoodie and carrying a purse, as well as a shopping basket. (Yes, someone could have snapped a pic of me and submitted it.)

While doing my shopping a little old lady approached me and asked me to help her find something. I politely told her that I did not work there and did not know where she could find what she was looking for. She walked away without saying anything and I continued shopping. A few minutes later I hear someone saying “That’s her, she’s the employee that was rude to me!” I turn to see the same little old lady with a manager pointing at me and looking very upset. The manager can see that I am not one of his employees and tries to explain this to the little old lady. “Nonesense!” she yells, “People where khaki pants when they’re at work so the customers will know that they work here.” I went over to explain to the lady that I had just come from work to do some shopping. She INSISTED several times that I and the manager were in kahoots so that they wouldn’t have to report me to corporate.

Finally, thinking she was playing along, she asked me where I DID work and finally left me alone, or so I thought.

The next day I found out that she had called my work to complain to my boss that I was rude to her in Walmart.
