A baby boy made his way into the world in an SUV at the Walmart parking lot Sunday afternoon.
Emergency response personnel were dispatched about 4:12 p.m. and arrived to find the baby had been delivered, said Lincoln Fire Department Captain Darren Coffey, who assisted along with firefighter Kendall Fitzpatrick.
Coffey didn’t have the identity of the mother or grandmother, who also was in attendance. He said they were from out of town, but he didn’t know from where.
He said the baby was premature, but couldn’t say by how much, though he said mother and baby “seemed to be doing fine.”
Logan County Paramedics also responded. The mother and baby were taken separately to Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital.
